Scholarships and bursary funds
Many boarding schools offer scholarships and bursary funds to both high-achieving students and those who could not afford to attend the school without financial help. It is best to speak with the school to find out whether there are such opportunities, and to check the eligibility criteria. For more information about scholarships see our Scholarships section.
In addition, financial assistance may be available through Youth Allowance or Abstudy you can obtain information on these schemes from the Department of Human Services.
For regional students, there is more assistance than ever before. Rural parents should investigate whether their child is eligible to receive any benefits through special programs such as the Australian Government's Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme. For more details, contact the Isolated Children's Parents' Association of Australia.
