About Alphington Grammar School
At Alphington Grammar School our primary focus is the health and wellbeing of our students, and ensuring that every student experiences success. For us, success is measured by each student’s individual achievement — knowing that they are doing the very best they can. Our goal is to help them do their best at every step along their educational journey.
Each student is an individual with a developing sense of self — seeking to be engaged in their learning journey, and provided with a breadth of opportunities, across a range of disciplines that will challenge and excite them. We are here to provide that to them in a safe, inclusive and culturally rich environment.
The world ahead for our children is vastly different from the world we navigate each day as parents and teachers. It is impossible to provide them with the exact proficiencies required for the world they will encounter. However, we are committed to providing them with the skills of lifelong learning, resilience and habits of mind that will prepare them for the myriad of opportunities that will come their way.
At the heart of everything we do, it is the engaging relationships within our community that make a real difference. As a small school, we pride ourselves on knowing and understanding our students, their individual needs and their families. We believe that our role as educators is to provide them with meaningful learning opportunities — so that we can inspire them to want to challenge themselves further and be the best they can be.
Learning is more than facts and figures. We not only assist our students in learning the fundamentals of a strong education — we show them how to apply that learning to experiences that give them the skills and abilities to thrive in the world beyond school. We are committed to preparing future adults, who excel in their chosen path, and are able to navigate the world they encounter with purpose, creativity, integrity, respect and compassion.
We show our students how to take their learning from their heads to their hearts through those experiences and opportunities, ensuring that they become well-rounded, passionate and responsible citizens of the
future.
