Our School

Since 1877, Tintern Grammar has been a leader in the fields of teaching, learning and the care of each and every child. Tintern is set on 40 acres of beautiful tree-lined grounds, with magnificent sporting fields, state-of-the-art facilities and a working farm.

Parallel Learning

The Parallel Learning model starts with mixed classes in our ELC, before genders are separated through the Junior and Middle Schools to provide stimulating and effective learning environments designed to meet the differing learning styles of boys and girls. Mixed classes are re-introduced in Year 10, where students benefit from a move to more independent and collaborative learning environments.

Early Learning Centre (ELC)

We offer part-time and full-time three-year-old and pre-Prep (four-year-old) programs in our ELC that combine teacher-led learning with play. Our youngest learners develop social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills, providing a solid foundation for their academic journey.

Junior Schools (Prep to Year 6)

Our Girls’ and Boys’ Junior Schools are an engaging and exciting place to learn. Our students receive the unique benefit of learning in tailored, gender-specific classrooms, while still taking part in planned activities on a co-educational campus.

Middle Schools (Years 7 to 9)

Our Middle Schools focus on academic and personal growth, health, pastoral care and gender-specific challenges. We offer elective subjects including performing arts, languages and ICT. Our Camps and Outdoor Education program builds skills of resilience, independence and responsibility.

Senior College (Years 10 to 12)

We provide choice and balance for students in the Senior College offering three study pathways — VCE, International Baccalaureate and VCE/VET, as well as extensive course and careers guidance, and university preparation.

Whole-child education

We offer students a broad range of co-curricular activities, including sport, outdoor education, young farmers, performing arts, debating, music and more.

Academic excellence

We are committed to meeting the individual needs of all our students. This includes challenging gifted children through Horizon, an enrichment program for students who display an enhanced level of learning as well as supporting all students to achieve their best.

Excellent teachers

Our teachers are passionate, dedicated professionals, who continuously develop their skills through our Professional Development program.

Individual care

Every child matters to us. By knowing and caring for each student, we nurture them to achieve their best.
