Wesley College

WA, Perth, City Central

Founded in 1923, Wesley College in South Perth is home to 1,300 students from Pre-kindergarten to Year 12, including 160 boarders.

The college is co-educational up to Year 6 then boys-only to Year 12, with a dedicated Middle School for the adolescent years and a strong academic focus.

Wesley is ranked as one of the 10 best-performing academic schools in Western Australia, with a median ATAR of 88.7 thanks to our cutting-edge learning spaces and trailblazing teachers.

We were also thrilled to be named as the Best Boarding School in Australia by The Australian Education Awards 2019. This is in addition to the Innovative School title given by The Educator Magazine in 2018.

These awards point to the academic excellence of the college.

For example, we’re the only school in WA to offer a long-term athletic development program (LTAD), designed to help every student in the college achieve their personal best in the sports they love.

Wesley is also the only school to give students a term away from the classroom in Year 8. Called Katitjin, the immersive program swaps the classroom for an opportunity to tap into their understanding of self, operate effectively in teams, and become effective members of their communities.

For boarders (Years 7 to 12) we offer a vibrant, nurturing, family-style environment next to the Swan River that celebrates each boy’s uniqueness and builds strong relationships between students and staff.

Whether you’re a boarder or a day student, you’ll find a positive, solution-focused philosophy for pastoral care and an emphasis on service, both in the curriculum and outside the classroom.

Our ideology is based on Christian and Uniting Church beliefs and a moral code that guides (and develops with) the community, through changing societal values and norms.

The reason? Because helping young people grow into humans who want to be ‘for others’ is better than any award. That’s why we do what we do.

Why not come for a tour of the college? We’d love to show you what makes it special.
