The campus consists of The Centre for Early Learning, the primary school, middle and senior school. It provides learning programs for girls and boys from pre-preparatory to university level.
Caulfield Grammar School is highly regarded for offering a thriving learning environment that supports our learners to feel empowered, deeply engaged and encouraged to become people of sound character and meaningful contribution.
Informed by current research and innovative practice, our comprehensive program supports learners to broaden their perspectives, take risks and creatively realise their aspirations for the future as confident lifelong learners.
Our highly qualified and knowledgeable educators draw upon a world of current and emerging expertise. As lifelong learners themselves, they undertake weekly professional development with a focus on evidence-based, quality teaching and learning.
Few schools can match the range of ways in which Caulfield Grammar School provides quality teaching and quality learning. Our extensive professional development program and specialist teachers’ approach means that our teachers continue to build on their knowledge of how learners best learn and how teachers best teach and learn.
Caulfield Grammar School is committed to providing authentic learning experiences that optimise our learner’s development as a whole person. Learners can explore new skills, concepts and relationships while developing a sense of self-efficacy and independence.
To improve our ability to impact on the learning of every student, each Year 7 and Year 8 class has a dedicated Learning Mentor (in addition to the subject specialist teacher) who monitors the academic and pastoral progress of each child in their class group.
The Learning Mentor monitors learning environments, observes and assesses the learning preferences of each child, and the academic and social development of each child while supporting the specialist teachers who facilitate the formal learning activities. There are, therefore, two teachers with each Year 7 and Year 8 class in all core subjects enabling better teaching and learning to take place.
Learners begin studying VCE subjects in Year 10 and emphasis is given to helping learners focus on preparation for entry to the tertiary course or career of their choice. Year 10 learners at Caulfield Grammar can customise their course of study and include a range of VCE units suited to their interests and abilities.
This means the VCE is spread over three years rather than two, enabling learners to tailor their own individual learning pathways for these critical senior years.
Few schools can match the range of learning experiences on offer at Caulfield Grammar. This enables students to discover their talents and hone their skills in their chosen fields.
The school has a history of excellent VCE results. Year 10 students are able to study VCE units suited to their interests and abilities, allowing the VCE to be spread over three years rather than two. VET and first-year university subjects are also provided, and students are supported by a comprehensive careers program.
The Internationalism Program is based at Caulfield’s Nanjing Campus in China and allows Year 9 students to experience living and learning in China for five weeks, studying themes such as heritage, work, family, education and challenges.
The introduction of Learning Mentors to each Year 7 and 8 class means that two teachers operate in each core subject. They observe, assess and respond to the academic and social development of each child while supporting the specialist teachers.
