Freshwater Christian College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 Co-educational Christian School based in Cairns.

Our Primary School provides an outstanding program for our students to grow in a safe, compassionate, and inspiring learning environment.

With over 40 acres of tropical green space, students are spoilt for choice in their outdoor environment. Students engage in problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork through diverse activities. Outdoor learning plays a key role, incorporating nature-based and inquiry learning to foster a deeper connection with the environment and enhance educational outcomes.

As students progress through Primary School, we explicitly teach and model social and emotional skills, alongside core academic skills such as research, analysis, and organisation to ensure they are prepared and ready for their Secondary years.

Over the six years in our Cairns Secondary School at Freshwater, we work with our students to develop and challenge them academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually, preparing them for their life beyond school.

The curriculum becomes increasingly specialised from Year 7 to Year 12. It blends traditional academic subjects with modern perspectives and technologies. Alongside classroom learning, students engage with diverse co-curricular programs and pathways.

We maximise the learning experience of each student by utilising learning data and performance-tracking methodologies. This ensures that each student progresses relative to their potential.

Beyond The Classroom

Learning at Freshwater Christian College is distinguished by the wide range of co-curricular programs and opportunities available to all students. At every stage of their development, our students participate in activities outside the classroom environment spanning across a range of subject areas including sport, music, outdoor learning, international trips and Personal Growth Programs.
