Heritage College Knox

The college offers something special in the world of education, with small classes, Christian-based education and a focus on each individual child and their learning. Established in 2010 in The Basin, Heritage College Knox is one of five successful and thriving Christadelphian Heritage Colleges across Australia, along with Adelaide, Lake Macquarie, Perth and Sydney.

Since relocating to a new campus in Ferntree Gully in 2020, Heritage College Knox has continued to expand its secondary school each year to offer a comprehensive and dedicated VCE program.

Our motto is ‘seeking wisdom and knowledge’. Knowledge is a result of comprehensive learning, while wisdom is gained through a reflective application of that learning. By building on the solid foundation of Biblical principles, our students are encouraged to become reflective learners and responsible, contributing citizens.

Our core values are:

Aims

We recognise that every child is unique, and therefore, strive to help each student reach their full potential through the provision of a personalised learning program. Every child is seen, every child is heard and we know every child by name.

Our students thrive on a quality education that focuses on strong academic achievement both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to our core subjects of numeracy, literacy, STEM and phys-ed, we have a dynamic outdoor education program that encourages students to acquire skills and an awareness and understanding of the natural environment and their place within it. With music, drama and LOTE (languages other than English) being Auslan, our students’ education is varied, engaging and motivating.

Personalised learning

Heritage College Knox understands that each child is unique. Recognising differences is the first step in offering every student their own personalised education. We offer extra support in a variety of ways, such as one-on-one learning and individualised education plans, which are updated regularly as the student learns and grows.

Similarly, for those who excel in various areas, we offer both acceleration (working through the curriculum more quickly) and enrichment (broadening and deepening skills) programs.

Secondary school

High school is about introducing the core disciplines and areas of knowledge that underpin our world today. Our students begin to find their future pathways as they study these areas.

While focusing on the eight core learning areas in the Victorian Curriculum, we also provide a wide range of extracurricular activities for our secondary students.

Commencing the year with an Adventure Camp to encourage friendships and team building, Year 7 students also participate in our brass instrumental musical program.

Heritage College Knox provides a stable, academically-driven education through to VCE in Years 11 and 12, with several exciting enrichment options such as the Heritage Masters, the Heritage Apprenticeship, Duke of Edinburgh and the Vivace Music Program.
