Our Mission at Foundation Christian College is ‘to provide a Christ-centred education in a caring community and to equip students for the 21st Century’.
High value is placed on delivering an education that is Christ-centred, because we want our students to learn and grow to be the best version of themselves that God created them to be.
This is accomplished through providing many educational and student development opportunities to every student from Kindergarten through to their graduation in Year 12.
Academics @ FCC
We have a strong focus and commitment to ensuring a coordinated and consistent presentation of the eight learning areas (Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, Technologies, the Arts, Languages, and Health & Physical Education), along with Christian Education; a ninth learning area specific to the college.
Every subject has a dedicated Head of Learning Area who partners with specialist teachers in both the primary and secondary school to ensure a seamless transition of students from one year to the next.
This seamless transition sets the foundation for the senior school students to excel in their chosen pathway. In Year 11 and 12, students have an even more specialised approach to learning plus we have broadened the electives offered where senior school students can embark on ATAR, General or Vocational Studies, as well as continue with Health & Physical Education and Christian Education.
Student Development @ FCC
All students participate in the Student Development program, and there are various leadership roles on offer such as mentoring younger students, coaching student sport teams, leading service teams and coordinating social events. These roles include Head Boy, Head Girl, Student Council representatives, House captains and Service team leaders.
The Outdoor Education Programme further builds upon student development and gives students the opportunity to learn how to safely assess and take risks in the outdoors. Outdoor Education is incorporated in our annual school camps for Years 7–12.
Students wishing to pursue Outdoor Education further can do so as an elective from Year 9 and choose it as an ATAR Subject in Year 11 and 12. Students experience a range of adventurous activities such as rock-climbing, abseiling, kayaking, lifesaving, boat education and camping from highly experienced and qualified teachers.
Arts @ FCC
The Arts Programmes at Foundation Christian College have expanded with Drama, Music, Visual Art and Design teams going from strength to strength, and the Arts teams continue to stretch students’ imaginations and skills in performance, backstage production, painting, sketching, laser-cutting techniques and furniture-making.
The college campus is situated within 8.5 hectares of land, which includes gardens and bushland. Younger students enjoy learning in our grounds through nature play, while our senior students enjoy the peace and tranquillity required for their studies.
