Message from the Principal

It is a great privilege to be the Principal of Carey Baptist Grammar School, and to have the opportunity to lead this innovative school into its centenary and beyond.

I strongly believe that every student should have the opportunity at school to develop their individual strengths and follow their passions, whether that be as academics, creators, innovators or athletes. At Carey, we understand that every child is unique, and that we must provide a range of different pathways to support the journey of each student.

We work in partnership with families to deliver a complete education in which we equip our students with not only the desire, but also the skills to play an active role in shaping the future and having a positive impact on the world.

  My Carey journey began in Year 2, and I have loved it every step of the way! Joining a new school is always intimidating; however, the hands-on staff and inclusive community have ensured that I feel comfortable and supported at Carey.

  Being able to study the IB Diploma at Carey has been the highlight of my school journey, as the skills I have developed will benefit me greatly in university. I always look forward to my economics classes, as learning is not limited only to the curriculum, but we are encouraged to relate our content to the real world and engage in debates, which makes the learning culture so fun!

  The support I have received in all aspects of my schooling — from sport to music and from academics to social activities — has made my Carey journey so enjoyable and helped prepare me for what’s to come after Year 12.
